A Cigar Torch! A Must for Everyone Who Enjoys Cigars!
The whole cigar smoking experience becomes a hobby. There is only one way to light a cigar and that is with a cigar torch. Yes, there are additional ways to start a cigar such as using a lighter or matches, but using these methods are not nearly as successful and quick as engaging a cigar torch. When lighting a cigar the most important issue is to light the end of the cigar completely and evenly. When doing so properly, you will obtain a complete red glow at the end of the cigar. This produces an even burn during the of the cigar. You do not want to smoke a cigar with only a portion of the end lit. When doing so the cigar will burn up one side and the cigar will not smoke as designed. When using a cigar torch, the flare is so strong and hot that the tip of the cigar has no choice except to light correctly with some slow rolling of the cigar. A hot, quick lighting with with the torch will produce similiar results even in windy situations. Matches or a lighter cannot produce this strong burn under normal conditions let alone in a stormy situation.

Until 1909 most everyyone had not choice but to use matches, but then the lighter was available at this time for lucky few people.
